High-Ranking Delegation From Japanese Representative To the Palestinian Authority Visits GCMHP

A delegation from the Japanese Representative Office to the Palestinian Authority visited on Tuesday, 14 March, 2023 Gaza Community Mental Health Programme in order to be introduced to the mental health state in the Gaza Strip.

The delegation which included Mr Takashi Hattori, Deputy Representative of the Japanese Government to the Palestinian Authority, and Ms Hibiki Urano and Ms Chika Kajita - advisors of the Japanese Representative Office, and Mr Basel Hassan, Projects Officer at the representative, were received by Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General, Mr Qusai Abu Odeh, Director of External Relations and Resource Development Department, and Ms Rawya Hamam, Director of the Training and Scientific Research Department.

During their visit, the Japanese delegation was briefed on the psychosocial challenges experienced by the residents of the Gaza Strip, and the nature of the therapeutic services and psychological and community interventions carried out by GCMHP to support the Palestinian community.
