MSF Delegation Visists GCMHP to Discuss Cooperation

A delegation from Doctors Without Borders (MSF) – Spain visited on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 the headquarters of Gaza Community Mental Health Programme in order to be briefed on the various activities provided and discuss ways of conducting joint work.

The delegation which included Mr David Cantero Pérez, Head of MSF Mission; Ms Pietra Garcia, Medical Coordinator of the Mission; Ms Beatriz Fernandez, the Gaza Strip Programme Coordinator, was received by   Dr Yasser Abu Jamei, Director General; Dr Taysir Diab, Deputy Director for Professional Affairs; and Mr Qusai Abu Odei, Director of External Relations and Resources Development Department.

The delegation started the meeting with a briefing about about MSF’s  services in the field of mental health which are provided in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip. Following that, Dr Abu Jamei provided an explanation about the reality of mental health services provided in the Gaza Strip and the various interventions done by GCMHP. He also  explained GCMHP’s contributions to the community and its organizations in the field  of capacity building, professional supervision, awareness promotion, as well as the nature of the interventions provided during crises and emergency situations.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation expressed their gratitude for the efforts made by the GCMHP in serving the community and reiterated the need to continue their cooperation the in the future.
