War Child - Holland Visits GCMHP

A delegation representing War child –Holland has visited on Tuesday, 26 July, 2022 Gaza Community Mental Health with the aim of being updated on the mental health situation in the Gaza Strip as well as GCMHP’s interventions.

The delegation, which included Ms Annalies Claessens, director of international program; Ms Sahar Somoom, oPT country; and Ms. Heba Al Ghalayini, met with Dr Tysir Diab, DG Deputy for Professional Afairs; Mr Qusai Abu Odei, Director of External Relations Department; Dr Amal Abu Obada, Psychiatrist; and Ms Rania Al-Sousi, psychologist.

At the beginning of the  meeting, Mr Abu Odei made a brief presentation on the establishment and history of GCMHP, as well as the most important services it provides in the field of protection and primary intervention and specialized therapy. Then Dr Diab revisited the  previous partnerships with War child –Holland in the context of supporting children.

This visit comes as a prelude for new partnerships between GCMHP and War child –Holland to promote mental health and children’s wellbeing.
