“GCMHP holds its Annual General Assembly Meeting”

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme has held on Sunday, August 9, 2020 its annual general assembly meeting at Al-Mashtal Hotel in Gaza City.
The meeting, which was attended by the members of the board of directors and the heads of departments was presided the head of the BoD, Dr Mohammad Abu Shahla, and the director general, Dr Yasser Abu Jamei. Observers from the Ministry of Interior also attended the meeting.
The meeting was opened by Dr Abu Shahla, who presented to the highlights of Gaza Community Mental Health Programmes achievements, attributing the organization’s success in providing high quality services to the Palestinian community to the efforts of the working staff, the partners and the generosity of the donors.
On his part, Dr Majed Abu Ramadan, the deputy of the head of the board of directors, presented the 2019 annual report which provided the observers and the staff members with information about the main activities, services and achievements and the impact of GCMHP’s mental health and psychosocial interventions on the wellbeing of Gaza population. He also made a reference to the scientific research that GCMHP conducts to ensure that its interventions are science-based and to provide scientific guidance for other actors who work in the field of mental health.
Following that Mr Issa Al-Nahal, GCMHP treasurer, and Islam Olwan, head of Finance Department, presented the financial report, which also included the independent auditor’s report.
The floor was then opened to the audience to ask questions and to give their feedback.
At the end of the meeting the members of the general assembly approved the administrative and financial report. Besides it has been agreed to choose an external auditor for the financial year 2020.
