GCMHP holds the English language Entrance Exam for Applicants in the Higher Diploma Program in Community Mental Health for the year 2019

 

The Training and Scientific Research Department of Gaza Community Mental Health Programme held in cooperation with the Education Faculty at the Islamic University in Gaza, the entrance exam for the 2016 high diploma programme in community mental health. A number of 122 of applicants sat for the exam who are graduates of the different specialities of medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, Social services and psychological counselling. The British Council’s supervised the entrance examinations took place in the halls of the Islamic University.

 

Dr. Tayseer Diab, Deputy Director General for Professional and Academic Affairs, Ms. Rawia Hamam, Director of Training and Scientific Research Department, Ziad Awad, head of the Academic and Professional Programs Unit in GCMHP, conducted an inspection tour in the exam halls along with Dr. Mohammed Abu Shuqair, Dean of the Education Faculty at the Islamic University. All have expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the efforts and arrangements made to facilitate conducting the exam.

It is worth mentioning that the Higher Diploma program, which started in 1997 and has 20 batches so far, is being implemented in partnership between Gaza Community Mental Health Programme and the Faculty of Education at the Islamic University. The diploma aims to qualify the students for a postgraduate degree in the field of mental health. Students are encouraged to delve into theoretical concepts in community mental health and human rights. They also receive a practical training that enables them to acquire the necessary professional and technical knowledge in mental health besides improving the different personal skills
